Tara has been dancing since the age of two, beginning her studies at Dance RI’s Providence location, under the direction of Debi Cusick D'Iorio. While at Dance RI, Tara began competing at a very young age, participating in many conventions and master classes where she studied under such renowned instructors as Scott Benson, Loree Russeau and Ron DeVito. In 1996, and with the guidance of Ann Beretta Morsilli, Tara began focusing solely on her ballet technique with Festival Ballet of Rhode Island under the late Christine Hennessey. She landed the role of Clara in their annual production of “The Nutcracker" in 1998 and went on to dance a variety of roles in many ballets. She once had the honor of performing in a ballet with special guest, Sascha Radetsky, a recently retired Principal Dancer of ABT and a lead in the film, “Center Stage”. Tara later signed professionally as an apprentice dancer in 2001 under the company's new name, Festival Ballet Providence, under the direction of Mihailo Djuric. Now, Tara dedicates much of her time to sharing in the classroom, where she strives to continuously push the boundaries that surround movement while always incorporating a great level of interpretation and diversity in each session. Her students and choreography are repeatedly recognized within the competitive dance industry, receiving numerous Highest Overall Scoring Awards, Choreography Awards, Scholarships as well as Regional and National Titles! Tara travels to visit various dance companies and studios each season to guest teach and set choreography. She is on staff as a Judge and Master Class Teacher for both Take Centerstage Dance Challenge and Turn It Around Tour. Tara's choreography was recently asked to be a part of the 2nd Annual Boston Contemporary Dance Festival in August 2013. She was honored to be on staff locally when IV Real Mvmnt visited RI for its first dance convention, a program founded by Will Wingfield & Monique Borromeo. Tara was a part of the creative team, and head choreographed, the Talent Factory’s 1st Dance IV Film, alongside Will & Monique; Her second film project just wrapped up, where Tara choreographed, and danced in, "Discover Curtain Call 2015", for the national costume company, Curtain Call. www.taramariechoreography.com

Hi Dana,

I just wanted to tell you what a great experience I had observing this week!!

Backing up a bit, when we were carefully selecting which studio we were moving to, Taylor participated in a camp week last summer (2012).   Even though you were in a temporary studio, the atmosphere was exactly what I hoped it would be.  Everyone was so friendly and truly passionate about dance. It was fun and serious at the same time. We were hooked.

Last year she grew so much as a dancer thanks to the dedication of you and your staff. I felt like she was so far behind other dancers of her age when she started. Although she still has so much to learn, I am amazed at how far she has come. Not only has her skill improved but her love of dance is immeasurable. I can't thank you all enough, especially Miss Keryn, who has totally transformed my little girl.

So, to my point, this is my first time ever observing classes. I can't tell you how much this week affirmed my choice to become a part of TFDC. The classes were very professional, organized and effective.  But what I knew in my heart, I finally saw with my own eyes. Every teacher was so passionate and really cares about every student.  Their energy and enthusiasm was so intense that I wanted to dance!! Lol. Miss Tara, Miss Keryn, Miss Kayla & yourself are truly special people.

I'm so glad I finally took the time to sit in on classes and was able to feel the pure joy that she does for dance. What an amazing program and we are thrilled to be a part of it all. Thank you for all you do.

Thank YOU. The hard work, talent and caring you and your staff put into everything you do is apparent and appreciated. Looking forward to next year's show! -June
Dana: Thank you for doing such a great job. You are really very gifted at your art. You push the kids to reach their best during the year and then are so supportive during the recital. You are complete grace under pressure. Enjoy some relaxation -Amy
THANK YOU for all your hard work in putting together yet ANOTHER fab recital. It's really so amazing to watch it all come together so "professionally"! -Cathy
